Police have detained an employee of Myanmar Railways after a Hong Kong woman said he sexually assaulted her on a train from Yangon to Bagan yesterday.
The attack allegedly happened as the train, carrying very few passengers, was nearing Taung Zinn Station in Nyaung Oo Township, close to its destination.
Local police told the Voice Weekly the suspect was a waiter in the restaurant car.
Bagan, home to hundreds of centuries-old pagodas, is one of Myanmar’s most popular tourist sites.
