Free beer! Yangon’s German restaurant Mahlzeit marks 500 years of awesome German brew

Fact: German beer is delicious.

Part of the credit for this totally true statement goes to Duke Wilhelm IV, who, in 1516, decreed that ingredients in beer should be limited to the basics: water, barley, hops, etc.

The decree has held, more or less, since then.

And so this year Germans are marking the 500th anniversary of the Duke’s decree, and Yangon’s Mahlzeit is joining the fun.

On Saturday (April 23) from 12pm to 6pm, the German-themed restaurant is offering up free flow Carlsberg and Tuborg (technically, those are Danish beers, but it’s free, so let’s not split hairs).

See ya there.

Mahlzeit is located at 84 Pann Hlaing Street, Yangon, Myanmar, 11111
