Foreigner goes berserk in ABC store, attacks staff

Police are searching for a middle-aged Japanese man accused of rampaging through an ABC store on Botahtaung Pagoda Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning, destroying products and attacking staff.

During the bizarre 4:30am episode, he apparently pulled the hair of two 20-year-old checkout girls, shoved another staff member and pushed trolleys filled with goods onto the street, the Voice Weekly reported.

But if the dude – who looked to be in his forties – is hoping to make a run for it, police are one step ahead.

“We already sent his photo to hotels, guesthouses, airports and entrances and exits of the city,” an officer from Pazuntaung Township police station told the Voice.

There were no details on what caused the breakdown but we can only assume he was fell victim to shopping cart rage, which is, apparently, a thing.
