Forecasters are warning of heavy rain and potential flooding in areas of Myanmar that are already inundated with water.
Rakhine, Mon, Kachin and Chin states as well as Tanintharyi, Irrawaddy, Sagaing and Bago regions should be on alert for flooding tomorrow and Thursday, Radio Free Asia reported.
The Rakhine coast is suffering from heavy flooding. More than 20,000 people have been evacuated from their homes since the monsoon hit.
A red alert was issued yesterday for Monywa, in Sagaing Region, where the Chindwin River water has swollen to dangerous levels. Boat services have been suspended.
Yangon Region is also set for heavy rain, according to the Department of Meterology and Hydrology.
