Five passengers have died after a 12-wheel truck slammed into a three-wheeled motorbike on the Yangon-Mandalay highway on Tuesday.
Eleven others were injured, including the driver of the truck, according to the Global New Light of Myanmar.
The motorcycle, a sort of tuk-tuk, was carrying 16 female farmers when the crash happened, in Kyaukdaga Township, Bago Region.
Police are investigating the cause.
The Yangon-Mandalay road is notoriously dangerous and nicknamed ‘Death Highway.’
Two died on Saturday after a bus carrying dozens of schoolchildren making a pilgrimage from Yangon to Mandalay overturned at high speed.
