Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo shared a series of photos on Twitter yesterday to express his support for Rohingya refugees. The tweet has received over 70,000 responses, including some from Rohingya activists and rights groups.
One 🌍 where we all ❤ our children. Please help. #Rohingya #Refugee @SavetheChildren https://t.co/t2eJN244Jl pic.twitter.com/9ZPwe5olJC

Attached to his tweet are a photo showing a Rohingya man holding his small child at a health clinic in a Bangladesh refugee camp beside another photo showing Ronaldo surrounded by his four children.
The footballer’s tweet also included a link to a page where people can donate to the Rohingya Crisis Children’s Relief Fund, a project of the nonprofit Save the Children, which runs the health clinic depicted in the photo. The fund provides refugee children and families with water, food, and shelter.
Since Aug. 25, nearly 700,000 Rohingya have fled military violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State into Bangladesh, according to the UN, joining hundreds of thousands of refugees who have fled to the neighboring country over the last several decades.
Around half of the almost one million Rohingyas in Bangladeshi refugee camps are children, many of whom are vulnerable to malnutrition and disease.
Many thanks @Cristiano for helping to raise awareness of the #Rohingya children & families in desperate need of relief. For those that want to help, your generous support will help us keep vulnerable children safe, healthy & protected: https://t.co/kGldVzhjf9
