In one of the nicer stories to come out of Myanmar lately, Clowns Without Borders took their slapstick routine to a couple of schools in Rakhine state this week, much to the delight of local children whose lives were disrupted by heavy flooding.
The visit was put together by the NGO Plan International and UNICEF.
According to Plan International, the clowns went to two schools, one of which had been closed for seven days because of the flooding.
Rakhine state was hit hard by the rising waters over the past few months, both in infrastructure and loss of life. Deaths in Rakhine have accounted for almost half of the nationwide toll.
