A female crocodile was captured Saturday on an island near Kyunnn Chaung village in the Irrawaddy region’s Laputta Township, according to a post on the Ministry of Information’s Facebook page.
Fishermen snagged the 10-foot long reptile using nets as it approached where they were sitting and passed it over to the local fisheries department, which passed it over to Tharketa Crocodile Farm about 20 minutes away from Yangon, the ministry said in the post.
WWF in Myanmar did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
