In the third deadly crash on the Yangon-Mandalay highway in a week, two women were killed when a passenger bus overturned on Friday night.
More than 30 others were injured in the smash, which happened at around 10pm in Kyaukdaga Township. Police are looking for the driver and conductor, who both fled the scene, according to the Global New Light of Myanmar.
The road is notorious for accidents and this week has been particularly brutal. Five died in the same area, in Bago Region, on Tuesday after a truck slammed into a motorcycle tuk-tuk carrying farmers.
A crash the previous Saturday, involving a schoolbus, claimed another two lives.
