The Bago Police Force have captured six of eight members of a group of masked vandals who were responsible for six casualties last Thursday night.
As Kumudra reports, a group of eight youths wearing masks went around setting fire to motorcycles and beating and stabbing citizens with sticks and knives in Bago last Thursday evening. Police believe that they had gotten drunk beforehand. The havoc left five passersby injured, and one dead.
“We caught one person on the night of the incident. After we interrogated him, we were able to arrest five more, who confessed to us that there were still two [members] left. Those two got away on a motorcycle,” an officer from the Bago Police Station confirmed to Kumudra. The age of the culprits currently in custody range from 17 to 22.
The police are still on the hunt for the remaining two individuals, and have opened a case against the arrested six under Sections 114 (“Abettor present when offense is committed”), 325 (“Punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt”), and 326 (“Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means”) of the Myanmar Penal Code.
