Baby elephants rescued after getting stuck in pond

Two baby elephants have been rescued and returned to their families after getting stuck in a muddy pond in southern Myanmar on Friday.

The animals – a three-year-old male and five-year-old female – tumbled into the water, near an oil-palm plantation in Kawthoung District, Tanintharyi Region, while their herd was drinking there.

Workers at the farm labored through the night to rescue the elephants, state-run newspaper the Global New Light of Myanmar reported.

The feat was eventually accomplished on Saturday with the help of heavy machinery, and the elephants reunited with the herd.

Good work, guys. Those elephants will never forget it.
