Ayeyawady Region chief minister breaks hand playing soccer

Mann Johnny, the chief minister of Ayeyawady Region, injured his hand while playing soccer on November 7 at General Administration Department Anniversary Competition.

An official from the Ayeyawady Region government said the chief minister fractured a bone in his hand.

A friend of the minister told The Voice: “He has a cast on now. He will get treatment in Yangon.”

The Voice reported that the minister was on the field just before the end of a soccer game between staff members of the General Administration Department when he was injured. He initially received treatment at Pathein Hospital before travelling to Yangon for further treatment on November 8.

Mann Johnny, 75, has been a member of the NLD central executive committee and was elected to the national parliament in 1990, 2012 and 2015 to represent various constituencies in Ayeyawady Region.
