Aung San Suu Kyi confident amid ruling party shenanigans

Aung San Suu Kyi just might be enjoying what’s going on in the USDP right now.

Though she criticized the move to oust ruling USDP chairman Shwe Mann in junta-like style last week, the upshot of her comments to reporters in Naypyidaw on Tuesday is that the opposition National League for Democracy (NLD) will benefit.

“The NLD is the one which will win [in the November election],” she said in the capital, according to 7Day Daily.

“Now, it is sure to win.”

This was five days after Shwe Mann and Co. were officially nudged from party leadership.

She also said that now she knows who is a friend and who isn’t, which many took to mean she is allying with Shwe Mann against President Thein Sein and his military pals.
