Asia’s Next Top Model has its first ever Myanmar contestant

Asia’s Next Top Model returns for a fourth season on STAR World Asia tomorrow featuring – for the first time ever – a contestant from Myanmar.

May Myat Noe will compete against 13 women from 10 countries across Asia in the reality TV competition, which puts aspiring models through a boot camp, with guidance from celebrity judges.

“I can be Asia’s next top model because I’m fierce, I’m sexy, I’m strong, I’m cute, I have a talent and I can sing,” she says in an ad for the show, before bursting into a rendition of Jessie J’s Price Tag.

Let’s hope it goes better than last time for the Myanmar model, who was stripped of her Miss Asia Pacific World title in South Korea in 2014 amid allegations she absconded without returning a $100,000 tiara.

She was also forced to deny claims she had accepted free breast implants from the organizers.

The winner of Asia’s Next Top Model will be named the 2016 face of TRESemme, grace the cover of Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore and travel to Europe to be represented by the prestigious Storm Model Management.

Ladies from Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore and Mongolia feature in this season.
