Army chief’s office: Around 400 dead in Myanmar violence

Around 400 people have been killed — the majority Rohingya — in communal violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, the office of Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing said Friday.

“Until August 30… 370 bodies of terrorists were found,” said a statement posted on its Facebook page, alluding to Rohingya militants, while 15 security forces and 14 civilians have also died in eight days of fighting.
