Air Asia shifts to shiny new Yangon terminal

Important news for Air Asia customers in Yangon. From now on, you should check-in at the shiny new terminal.

The low-cost carrier has shifted operations to T1 starting today, according to a post on its Myanmar Facebook page.

“Guests who are travelling on all flights operated by Malaysia AirAsia (flight code AK) and Thai AirAsia (flight code FD) are advised to check-in at Terminal 1 from the effective date, which is within walking distance from the old terminal,” the post reads.

Yangon International opened a new terminal (with facilities including, um, KFC) in March but only the state carrier, Myanmar National Airlines, used it initially.

Somewhat confusingly, the new one is branded as Terminal One, while the old has become T2.
