Air Asia announces direct route from Yangon to Penang

Budget airline Air Asia will soon fly three times weekly from Yangon to Malaysian island destination Penang.

The carrier is set to introduce the new direct route on March 22.

Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial for AirAsia Berhad, told aviationtribune.com:

“Yangon, which is Myanmar’s largest city is becoming an increasingly popular leisure destination among travelers in the region. We are confident that the direct connectivity between both cities will stimulate leisure and business activities, as this will be Malaysia’s second direct flight into Yangon.”
