Three student protesters have been detained after peaceful demonstrations in Yangon this morning.

A Yangon-based activist with the 88 Generation confirmed the arrest of the trio, naming them as Nandar Sitt Aung, Shein Yarzar Thun and Aung Lay.

More than 200 campaigners marched through downtown Yangon, calling for the release of students detained in Letapan, about 90 miles to the north, more than 100 of whom were arrested on March 10.

Dozens have been released but 69 were this week charged on five counts including rioting and disturbing public tranquillity.
