6,000 education facilities in Myanmar need renovations

Deputy education minister Win Maw Htun said yesterday in the Upper House of parliament that 6,000 education facilities in Myanmar require renovation, reported 7Day Daily.

He said ministry staff have visited education facilities across the country and have found buildings in need of repairs in every state and region.

He proposed that funds for renovations be included in the budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year.

The deputy minister said: “[The repairs] will be implemented only if the Upper House, Lower House and the Union parliament approve the proposal.”
