Rock out at People’s Park (Saturday)

Thousands of people are planning to attend this massive rock festival, featuring Myanmar bands like Wai La, Emperor, Reason, Idiots and Bigbag. You can pick up tickets at major City Marts or call the hotline on 09264499912. Delivery is available.  For more info, see the Facebook page.

Pig out at Pizza Hut (All weekend)

All hail the arrival of the stuffed crust in Yangon. Pizza Hut, the latest fast food giant to set up shop in the city held its soft launch on Thursday and is now open for business. Pies go for between about K10,000 ($8) and K18,000.

Pizza Hut is located next to City Mart Marketplace on Dhammazeddi Road.

Take in some photography at Institut Francais (Friday)

Twelve Myanmar photographers display work based around the theme of ‘transition’, confronting the challenges and opportunities presented by the reform period. The actual exhibition will run at Myanmar Deitta Galley from October 27, but the work will be launched tonight with photo screenings and live music. It’s free.

Clearance sale at Epic Fashion (All weekend)

Need to stock up on your favorite overseas brands? Epic Fashion, which buys in lines from Mango, H&M, Zara and more, is having a clearance sale. All clothes are priced at K29,000 until October 25.

Listen to stories, told live at Pansodan Scene (Saturday)

A cool new initiative from Pansodan Scene gallery asks people to tell real-life stories before an audience. This week’s theme is ‘first times’, so it’s bound to be entertaining. You can just go to watch, no need to take part.
