Wondering what to do get your creep on this weekend? We assessed the options so you don’t have to.
Haunted house at La Carovana (Saturday)
La Carovana, a colonial era-villa turned restaurant, becomes a haunted house courtesy of Pun & Projects (the hospitality empire that also includes Port Autonomy). Admission is free and cocktails go for K5,000. They also promise “spooky surprises” and the best-dressed guest wins a K100,000 dinner voucher for the restaurant.
#22A Kabar Aye Pagoda Road. 7pm until 11pm.
Ah Moon at Novotel Hotel (Saturday)
The swanky new Novotel Hotel is throwing one of this weekend’s more upmarket ragers. It’s $100 for two bottles of spirits plus mixers (a deal targeted at groups) or $20 inclusive of two drinks. Singer Ah Moon on stage from 8pm. Plus: canapés and face-painting. In the lead-up to the event they’re serving Halloween-themed sweets (gravestone Oreo cheesecakes, anyone?) in their lounge.

Boat party at Botataung Jetty (Friday)

There are only a few dozen more tickets for this boat party on the Yangon River. The double-decker vessel will turn into a dance floor with a long DJ line-up. Tickets are K15,000 in advance – contact Fahrenheit bar – or K20,000 on the door and include one free drink.

Nightmares at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel (Saturday)
The Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel stationed off Botataung Jetty already has all the makings of a horror movie: endless narrow corridors, weird knickknacks, a steampunk aesthetic. So it seems fitting that they would host a Halloween bash. Tickets are K28,000 but organizers promise the party will go on ‘til late’. Groups of five can pay K200,000 for tickets plus one bottle and mixer.
Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel, No.6 Botataung Jetty. From 7pm until late.
Dia de Muertos at Tin Tin Yangon (Saturday)

For a more low-key option, swing by Mexican eatery Tin Tin Yangon for some Dia De Muertos, or Day of the Dead festivities. It’s free and everyone gets their first blood-red Margarita free. It’s $19 for a pitcher.
