Full Stop at The Envoy (Friday)

Head over to The Envoy on Friday and enjoy a mix of hip hop, jazz, funk, soul, and disco music throughout the night at the last Full Stop event of the year. Several artists including DJ Nayla, G-Tone, ad P.B.D Hood are scheduled to perform.

Unsung: The Kite Tales exhibition (Saturday/Sunday)

This weekend is your last chance to see the ‘Unsung’ exhibition hosted by the team behind The Kite Tales. The exhibition is free of charge, and there are approximately 20 photos, videos, and audio recordings telling the stories of individuals from all across the country. Photographs from the exhibition are also up for purchase.

On Sunday — the exhibition’s last day — there will also be a discussion on language, culture, and identity from 5-6pm. The talk will be hosted by the Kite Tales team, and feature Pansodan Gallery’s Aung Soe Min, and Chin politician and rights campaigner Cheery Zahau.

Myanmar Deitta10am to 5pm. The discussion on Sunday is from 5pm to 6pm.

White Balloon Movement at People’s Park (Sunday)

Not to be confused with the ‘white flag’ march that took place earlier this month, Yangon citizens have organized a ‘white balloon’ event to call for legal action against child abuse and trafficking in Myanmar. Participants will get a chance to launch over a thousand white balloons tagged with letters for children.

People’s Square and Park, 2pm to 9:30pm

Aung Ko Solo Exhibition (through December 19)

Get a glimpse of daily life on the Ayeyawady River through Aung Ko’s paintings, which are currently on display downtown. Through a variety of subjects including pagodas and mythical creatures, Aung Ko “paints daily life on the river as it exists today”.
