Watch: Myanmar depicted as a ‘land of make believe’ in dark fairytale animation

Animations are quite the fad among NGOs these days.

The latest one, from Amnesty International, uses a dark fairy-tale-gone-wrong story to put across the message that post-reform Myanmar is hardly a human rights paradise.

One of the organization’s latest reports focused on the renewed crackdown on activists ahead of November 8 polls.

At least 100 political prisoners are behind bars and more are awaiting trial.

The message of this video is somewhat simplified. Generals = bad. Aung San Suu Kyi = good. (For some reason President Thein Sein is pink). But the animation is kick-ass. Enjoy.

The truth about Myanmar

The President of Myanmar would have the world believe that this tiny nation has moved on from its draconian military past. Are the people really free? Find out the truth.
