If you haven’t heard of the Tetseo sisters, it’s time.
Made up of four sisters from Nagaland, the region straddling Myanmar and India, the quartet are known on both sides of the border for their sweet renditions of traditional Naga folk music.
Turns out they can do Motown tributes, too.
Their cover of Charlie Puth’s sultry ‘Marvin Gaye’, recorded in 2015 and featuring Naga singer Kenny Rio, was sharely widely in Myanmar last week after Yangon Heritage Trust founder Thant Myint-U posted it on his Facebook page.
It’s a bit of a departure from their traditional stuff, like the melodious and insanely catchy O Rhosi.
But ‘Marvin Gaye’ isn’t the first time the band have ventured into Western pop.
Check out this sweet rendition of Bruno Mars’ Nothing on You.
