Cocktails at The New Boris, off Kabar Aye Pagoda Road. PHOTO/PUN + PROJECTS
Drink: The New Boris
Pun + Projects, the guys behind Port Autonomy, have opened a new bar called The New Boris on the ground floor of their renovated colonial-era villa. The design incorporates rattan loungers with Chin fabrics and stark white tiles, according to the press release, and their cocktail menu was created by Hong Kong-based specialists Tequila Mockingbird. The name’s a reference to Boris Granges, the Swiss founder of the original Le Planteur, an upmarket French restaurant in Yangon. The whole villa, Private Propertie, also includes Port Autonomy in the gardens and La Carovana restaurant upstairs.
The New Boris is right next to Port Autonomy, 22A Kabar Aye Pagoda Road. Take the path to Golden Hill Tower and veer right. Open Tuesday-Sunday, 4pm until late.
