Eat: Indian cooking classes
Learn to make everything from roti and dhal to cardamom ice cream at Beena Shah’s cooking classes held on Saturdays and Sundays. The Indian native takes students around the markets before cooking in the kitchen of her Bahan apartment overlooking the Shwedagon. It’s 30,000 kyats for both the market tour and the cooking class and sessions are held on Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons. Reflect: Yangon heritage talk

Ever wondered who lives in those mouldering mansions and centuries-old wooden homes downtown? Virginia Henderson and Tim Webster, the authors of Yangon Echoes, which explores the lives of the city’s oldest buildings through current and former residents, will talk about the new book on Saturday in Yankin Township.
