Myanmar’s under-20 football team has made it into the World Cup for the first time. Their first game, against the US, will be screened at 50th Street. If you can stomach it on a Saturday morning, Myanmar beer will be sold for $1 during the match.

Work out: Field hockey open day

The Yangon Pythons are holding an open day for anyone with an interest in the sport. Myanmar’s national team coach will lead drills before a friendly match. Balls, sticks, drinks provided at no cost.

Watch: Memory Film Festival

Memory Film Festival, an international screenfest celebrating cinematic heritage, starts Friday and runs through June 7. The opening weekend looks promising and includes talks by Hollywood legends like Catherine Deneuve and Michelle Yeoh (pictured above).
