All the while, allow the soothing sound of the horse’s hooves lull you into another time and place.

Adventure through Mandalay, Amarapura, Ava and Sagaing
USD81.75 per person
Travel from Mandalay to Myanmar’s ancient capital city Amarapura. There, take a walk on U Bein’s Bridge, a 200-year-old landmark that holds the title as the world’s longest teak bridge. You’ll be walking on history (literally!) since the reclaimed teak wood comes from an old royal palace. (Prestige much!)
Discover Mahaghandayon Monastery where peaceful monks don deep maroon robes. Next, get a glimpse of the traditional weaving industry and shop for local handicrafts, only found in the area. From there you’ll head to Sagaing, an important spiritual destination.
Sagaing Hill offers beautiful views of the Ayeyarwady River. Atop the hill, visit Kaunghmudaw Pagoda, built in the 17th century, and Umin Thonse Pagoda, which means 30 Caves. Spend the afternoon sightseeing around Ava, the imperialist capital of Myanmar from the 14th-19th century.

Go trekking through the hills of Kalaw
USD70.85 per person
Your trip begins in the cool climate of Kalaw, a hill station founded by the British. Trek through the forest to the Palaung hill tribe villages. Walk along tealeaf and orange plantations on the way to Hin Khar Kone Palaung village. Enjoy a fresh lunch of local ingredients at the home of your gracious trekking guide. After lunch, trek to Myin Dike Danu village, passing through vegetable fields and local towns. Sigh, it’s picture perfect.

USD87.20 per person
This full-day excursion starts with an early morning wake-up call in Bagan and a 48km ride southeast to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano towering 1,518m into the sky. Mount Popa plays a significant role in Myanmar culture, religion and history. It’s a holy destination with many shrines and relics dedicated to the worship of the 37 Great Nats, or ancient Burmese animist spirits.
Learn about Nat worship as you make the ascent to the top of the stairs with your guide. Although this climb is optional, the view over Myingyan Plain from the top of the volcanic peak is breathtaking.
Next, continue 35 km south of Bagan to Salay, an important Buddhist destination for hundreds of years with many monasteries still active today. Take your time to admire the stunning Bagan-era architecture. The wooden monastery halls of Yok Sone Kyaung monastery are particularly remarkable.
