‘Public’ Burger King outlet to open at new domestic terminal T3

Almost immediately after Myanmar’s first ever Burger King opened earlier this year at the new international terminal T1, there were talks about setting up more outlets throughout the country. Well, the company seems to have gone through with those plans as it is indeed expanding and opening up a second outlet… all the way over at the new domestic terminal T3.

Guys, that’s like one entire terminal away.

While this does mean that you’ll still have to drive yourself over to the airport to get your hands on a cheeseburger, the good news is that this second store will be a ‘public’ Burger King outlet.

You see, the problem with the first Burger King — you know, besides its extortionate prices — was that it was located inside T1 after passport control and customs, which meant only travelers flying out of that terminal could access it.

T3’s Burger King, though, will be for the people, as long as the people are willing to shell out $8.50 for a standard ‘value’ whopper meal or $14.50 for a triple whopper with bacon and cheese.

However, we don’t know yet if, like at the T1 Burger King, the menu will be priced in dollars. We’d like to think the answer is no, especially seeing as T3 is a domestic terminal.

If burgers aren’t your thing and you’d prefer to throw your money at another American fast food chain, then T3 will also be home to Yangon’s latest KFC outlet.

Smell that? It’s the sweet scent of overpriced, deep-fried modernization.
