Free tea, desserts at Pansuriya for Martyrs’ Day

If you’re planning to stop by the Secretariat tomorrow for Martyrs’ Day, here’s a tip for you: Pansuriya, the awesome restaurant very close by on Bogalazay Street, is giving out free stuff as part of the commemoration.

The newish eatery, which serves a huge range of excellent Myanmar dishes, is offering tea and bowls of mont let hsavng, a dessert made from sticky rice and coconut milk, according to a post on its Facebook page.

It’s right around the corner from the Secretariat, a sprawling former colonial-era government building which is open to the public for just one day per year – July 19 – in memory of independence leader Aung San who was shot dead there in 1947 along with eight others.

If you’re curious about what’s going on in Yangon tomorrow to mark the day, read our post here.

Pansuriya is located at #102 Bogalayzay Street
