WATCH: Insane footage from Myanmar’s balloon festival in Shan State

We recently visited Taunggyi in Shan State to check out the famous Tazaungdaing Balloon Festival.

This year’s creations did not disappoint.

Neither, we hope, does our footage of the event, which stems from a Buddhist holiday celebrating the Full Moon.

Balloons are loaded up with candles and firecrackers and sent into the sky. Naturally, many explode, and injuries and deaths have happened in the past. But thankfully, there were no major incidents this year.

Just a lot of fun. A LOT of fun.
