WATCH: Fighting back, Myanmar women learn self-defense

“They get harassed at work, in the daytime, on the walk, in the taxi, almost everywhere. I let them know that they got harassed because of the men, not what they wear or how they act.”

That’s Michelle, a trainer at a new course of self-defense classes in the city. The course, believed to be the first of its kind in the country, is the subject of a new short video piece for Coconuts TV by Yangon-based journalist Joshua Carroll.
