In pics: Mermaids, aliens, monsters and sea creatures at the Halloween-themed Safari Boo

At the River Safari, the aliens are friendly, the monsters smile instead of scare, and the mermaids wave to you as they frolick around with manatees in a giant tank. Back for its third year, Safari Boo is a non-creepy Halloween event that kids can actually attend without the fear of nightmares to come.

With its theme of ‘Aliens and Monsters’, the nocturnal fest offers trick-or-treat activities, live animal presentations, educational sessions, mermaid performances and, of course, a chance for little ones to play dress up.
