Social media lit up in praise of a wheelchair-bound GrabFood deliveryman who was seen doing his usual deliveries and who has now become an inspiration for all of us.

The photo, uploaded to the All Singapore Stuff Facebook page on Saturday, showed the deliveryman waiting at the traffic light while dressed in a GrabFood shirt and holding a delivery food bag with the GrabFood logo.

“No reason to slack if this guy here is working hard, despite his (sic) unfortunate,” the caption on the photo said, accompanies by the hashtag #champion.

The photo was a screenshot of an Instagram story belonging to an Instagram user who could not be identified as of press time.

However, we spotted a person by the name of Reven Teo who took to his Facebook page on Friday to post the exact same photo with the caption “Give a thumbs up to this champ”.

Netizens were quick to praise the deliveryman for striking it out on his own despite his disability, with some even praising Grab for allowing disabled people to work in the company.

This is not the first time a wheelchair-bound delivery person from GrabFood has been praised; last November, a delivery woman from GrabFood was lauded by netizens for similar reasons.

She was seen on a Mass Rapid Transit train in the same GrabFood shirt and food bag.

“We are very inspired by the delivery-partner and heartened to see her commitment,” said GrabFood Singapore head James Ong to Coconuts Singapore in response to the post of the deliverywoman going viral.

“GrabFood is proud to be the platform that enables micro-entrepreneurs like our delivery-partners… they have the flexibility to plan their working arrangements, from their preferred modes of transport to their working hours.”
