Whenever something like this happens, we’re more upset that the culprits fail to recognize that making all that food and running a business doesn’t come easy. Heck, some of the food could’ve easily made it to our Coconuts Hot Spot section.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, a group of diners were caught on camera going postal at the famous Balestier Bak Kut Teh (Kian Lian) restaurant, allegedly in a drunken stupor, according to TODAY. In a clip that’s gone viral on Facebook, the men can be seen throwing around utensils and a chair before walking over to a steamer —used to keep dim sum warm — to topple it down, causing shards of glass and the food stored inside to be strewn all over the floor. Rude, and what a waste of dim sum.
A table was flipped over and the men could be seen making angry gestures before they left shortly, reportedly in a taxi, at about 2:41am.
According to the post made by Balestier Bak Ku Teh (Kian Lian), the eatery explained that the main culprit (the dude in black t-shirt) was accompanied by three other men who appeared to be drunk and became impatient when he wanted to be served right away after a staff member told them she would serve them shortly.
The eatery added that the damages amounted to at least $5,000, but it was more concerned about the terror experienced by its staff members. A police report has since been lodged and investigations are ongoing.
