The various images of the massive blaze at 23 Tuas View Circuit uploaded on social media this morning is scary enough to show you the severe scale of the inferno.

Thick plumes of smoke engulfed the skies over Tuas early this morning when a fire broke out at a waste management plant, so you know that it reeked to the high heavens. Even worse — the fire (which has since been extinguished thanks to the Singapore Civil Defence Force) involved chemical waste, which means that it would be pretty noxious to breathe in the acrid lingering stench.

But if you want to see the true devastation of the blaze this morning, look no further than Muhammad Firdaus’ uploaded footage of the aftermath in the vicinity. Charred trees, blackened waters, scorched earth, singed metal railings, stray fires — it all honestly looks like a post-apocalyptic landscape (shoutout to Fallout).

According to his account to TODAY, the strong odour of chemicals was extreme enough for him to GTFO of there. An explosion was heard when he was filming the footage as well.

It took four hours, 38 Singapore Civil Defence Force emergency vehicles and about 200 personnel to extinguish the blaze. Damping down operations are currently ongoing, while the cause of the fire is under investigation.
