A group of students from the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Department of Communication and New Media is on beat to bust food wastage in their school — and what better way to enforce the decree by having a Food Police officer?

In their efforts to reduce food waste, the students behind the Wasted SG initiative have launched a campaign filled with memes, puns and hilariously absurd documentaries starring fictional tough cop Officer Mata Chuan Duan Ku, whose devotion towards reducing waste output is, er, savory. Witness him in action:

“Policing in Singapore is crucial to keep the garden city clean, green and sustainable,” wrote Wasted SG in its Facebook post.

“In the past, we have seen how enforcement on chewing gum, littering and consuming food on public transport has made Singapore one of the cleanest cities in the world. The rising pressure for cities to go before being just physically clean, and to be environmentally sustainable, helped establishing a new initiative of Food Policing to combat food wastage in Singapore.”
