A 16-year-old male was arrested for armed robbery on Thursday (June 22). Where did this armed robbery take place, you ask? Why, in Yishun.

The teen reportedly stole $230 in cash after threatening the 22-year-old employee of a 7-Eleven store in Chong Pang with a knife at 10:55pm on Monday (June 19), said The Straits Times.

The victim later lodged a police report, and Ang Mo Kio Police Division officers arrested the teenager at Yishun Central after investigating the matter.

If he’s convicted of armed robbery, the suspect could face five to 20 years in jail and at least 12 strokes of the cane.

On social media, the buzz about the case revolved around the boy’s age and, well, the fact that the theft took place in Yishun, of all neighborhoods.
