The man who got shot by the police after going berserk outside a police station has pleaded guilty today.

Soo Cheow Wee, 50, was found guilty of two counts of criminal intimidation and one count each of hurting a public servant and using the knife to assault a man.

On Feb. 17, Soo consumed cough syrup and slashed a 41-year-old man with a knife near Block 420A in Clementi Avenue 1 at around 8:40pm. The victim was conscious and suffered injuries on his right arm and wrist.

Soo then took a taxi to Clementi Police Divisional Headquarters where he charged toward a 20-year-old man.

A video showed Soo in a stand-off with three police officers who all took out their guns and pointed at him after Soo wielded his knife. Soo then charged toward one of them and was shot on his left arm.

The police put out a statement that night saying that the officer fired his revolver as there was “imminent threat” and detained Soo, who was conscious and sent to the hospital.

Soo will be sentenced in October.
