A 19-year-old was arrested last night for allegedly murdering his 47-year-old father.

The police told reporters that they were alerted to the crime scene at Block 653 of Yishun Avenue 4 at around 7:05pm. They found the father lying motionless outside a housing unit and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The son was then arrested. He will be charged with murder tomorrow. Investigations are ongoing.

A witness told The Straits Times that the father had knocked on her door asking for help while covered in blood.

One of the block’s lifts had been cordoned off with police officers on standby.

If found guilty, the teen will be sentenced to death.
