A Singapore minister has addressed a trivial matter after haters called her out for getting special treatment over a plate of noodles.

Sun Xueling, Minister of State for Home Affairs and the sole Member of Parliament for Punggol West SMC, today took some time from her very busy schedule and quashed claims that she did not pay for her plate of Hokkien Mee. Unshockingly, she buys and queues for it like everyone else.

“I pay for my Hokkien Mee and I wait to collect my Hokkien Mee like everyone else,” she wrote.

This came after she shared on Saturday that she finally got her “Hokkien Mee fix” during a catch-up session with families in Punggol West.

According to Sun, the post garnered a hate comment from a Facebook user named Ragavachari Chari, which she slipped in a screenshot of, who alleged that she received a “free meal again.” Sun denied this and called the user out for deleting the comment after she tried to clarify.

Another lady at the coffee shop also called her out in person for getting her noodles earlier because she was an MP but Sun also denied this and said the noodle stall owner treated her like everyone else by scolding her like she does with “most patrons.”

The love for Hokkien Mee still triumphs over all as Sun said this didn’t stop her from buying the noodles once more over the weekend.

She asks keyboard warriors to chill and use their energy for the better.

“To all those who want to spread falsehoods and cause disharmony, I suggest you use your time to see how you can spread joy and do something constructive. The world will be a better place if we use our energies productively and positively,” she wrote.
