Travelers on a flight from Bali and Singapore were left hanging in the air for a while after some “unruly” passengers refused to fasten their seatbelts during landing.

According to a statement by the airline, the captain of flight TR285 from Bali “discontinued the approach” – referring to the aircraft’s descent – due to safety reasons.

The incident, including the announcement, presumably by the pilot was captured in a TikTok video taken by one of the passengers on the flight.

In the video by user Audi Khalid, the pilot is heard saying that he is “legally not able to land an aircraft if the cabin isn’t secured” and that “airport police will be involved” when they land. Clapping can be heard after that line.

It is understood that the delay occurred because the plane had to circle around more than once before approaching the airport – all while waiting for the rogue passengers to cooperate.

When the plane finally landed, passengers were told that “local authorities” would be boarding the aircraft and they had to sit tight until “clearance is given”.

Airport police can be seen entering the aircraft in the video and talking to some passengers at the back before escorting some of them out – a woman carrying a baby is one of them.

At the end of the video, a man in a black t-shirt is seen being questioned.

While Scoot apologizes for the “disruptions and inconveniences”, they maintained that the wellbeing of the customers and staff is their priority and that “appropriate actions” will be taken against anyone who risks the safety of their passengers and staff.

Scoot also said that the public should “refrain from undue speculations” as authorities are still investigating the matter.

Just last week, a man was also kicked off a Singapore Airlines flight for acting like a man-child. He has since been blacklisted.
