A minor hiccup during the rehearsals for the Army Open House 2017 saw a Red Lions jumper suffering slight injuries after a hard landing yesterday morning.

3WO Sim Chee Jin received a couple of scrapes on his arm after a landing went awry — “strong and sudden ground wind direction changes” pushed him into the path of his teammate’s parachute, causing him to get tangled up. Channel NewsAsia managed to capture the moment when the two parachuters tumbled onto the ground, with 3WO Sim missing the landing strip entirely.

Medics were on hand to tend to his injuries. But the man’s totally fine, according to an update on The Singapore Army’s Facebook page.

“Although there was a minor hiccup during my landing in this morning’s rehearsal jump, resulting in scrapes on my arm, the team is all set and ready to put up a good show for all this coming weekend!” said 3WO Sim.

The Singapore Armed Forces Parachute Team has been rehearsing over the past couple of days ahead of the Army Open House from May 27 to 28 at the F1 Pit Building — and hopefully, there won’t be any hiccups by then.
