Winter is not coming, so we’ll just have to make do with the ongoing precipitation that’s been prevailing since last month. According to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS), we should expect cooler temperatures and wet weather to persist through the first fortnight of December.

Across the island, moderate to heavy short-duration thundery showers are expected both in the afternoons and evenings of five or six days. Some days will even see pre-dawn moderate rainfall to heavy thunderstorms with windy conditions. (So don’t be surprised to see flooded roads.)

Those inclined towards sweater weather will love the second fortnight of December, when a possible monsoon surge in the surrounding region will bring a few days of cooler temperatures, windy conditions and — of course — heavy rain. Wet days will see daily maximum and minimum temperatures dropping to around 29°C and 22°C respectively.

In its review of November’s weather, MSS noted that a total of 24 rain days were recorded for the whole month, well above the long-term average of 18.
