Singapore’s highly publicized baby panda has taken Singapore by the paws and is – according to its minders – loving all the attention.

Ever since doors opened to see Le Le, the 4-and-a-half-month-old, last week at River Wonders, hundreds of visitors have been pouring in daily and are expected to hit peak capacity for the next few weeks.

“Tickets have been selling fast, and the park is reaching full capacity for most weekends until February and over the upcoming Chinese New Year holidays, as these fall within our peak period as well,” Mandai Wildlife Group told Coconuts today, adding that tickets were fully booked for his debut this past Thursday.

Queues were seen snaking toward the entrance of the park. The group said that even though it only accepts up to about 100 visitors at a time, guests had been “very patient and understanding” while waiting.

Its staff are spread out to encourage guests to keep a safe distance while queuing.

“We are especially heartened by and would like to thank the many considerate guests who have been taking quick snapshots of Le Le before moving along so other visitors get the chance to see the cub as well,” its statement said.

Le Le is currently taking short daily breaks from mama panda Jia Jia to soak up 30 minutes of fan worship twice daily at around 10:30am and 3:30pm. The group said this would be reviewed and adjusted over the next few weeks depending on how comfortable the pandas are.

As of now, the group said Le Le is “adjusting well” and adapting to his space, adding that he has a “laid back and inquisitive personality” and will nap whenever he darn well wants to.
