In the latest JobsCentral Employers of Choice survey, it’s revealed that the Ministry of Education (MOE) is the top choice among fresh graduates and undergraduates applying for jobs.
According to TODAY, MOE surfaced to the top of the poll after ranking seventh in 2013. Following closely behind in second rank is Singapore Tourism Board (STB), who ranked sixth last year. National University of Singapore (NUS), Economic Development Board (EDB) and Health Promotion Board (HPB) made it into top five ranks too.
The survey collected results from 2,321 respondents in the span of three months this year. The sample group consisted of current full-time undergraduates and graduates who finished their studies between 2012 and 2014.
As for private sector jobs, Google, Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Apple continue to lead the list as the top three employers of choice among Singapore job-seekers. Coming in at number four, Changi Airport Group joined the list as a new inclusion.
The survey reported that more people preferred to work in the private sector than the public sector. Jobs in the public sector were said to be more attractive in terms of advancement opportunities and salary. However, human resources problems were more evident at these jobs too.
