North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been described with many labels. Cruel. Savage. Evil. Portly. And now, trendsetter?
As a lark, the arrival of newlyweds to popular Malay wedding spot Mamanda Restaurant was heralded by groomsmen jogging in sync alongside the bridal car. You know, much like North Korea’s famous jogging bodyguards. Footage of the amusing stunt was uploaded yesterday afternoon on Twitter by @NabiiilAidiiil, and as of writing, has gotten over 1,000 retweets.

The world first came to know of Kim’s sharp-suited joggers in April this year during the inter-Korea summit — personal bodyguards chosen for their “fitness, marksmanship, martial arts skills, and even looks,” according to AFP. It’s hilarious because the running guards (who made an appearance here last month in the Trump-Kim summit) are human shields that offer no extra protection really, because Kim’s limousine is already highly armored as it is.

Apparently, the human motorcade’s role is to be observers and detectors of threats nearby — and as we’ve learned from the Twitter clip, they make great lookouts for wedding processions as well. Having human shields are great and all for newlyweds, but that’s nothing to compare to being escorted by the likes of Black Panther and the Green Ranger.
