‘The Office’ parodies of the Trump-Kim summit have arrived

The Trump-Kim summit may be over, but video footage of the awkward, sometimes absurd moments, is the gift that keeps on giving.

This generation’s comedic visionaries have taken the weekend to create a summary of the times we live in, combining the summit of the century with iconic sitcom The Office.

To be honest, the summit already felt like life imitating art. Donald Trump already fits the part The Office’s lead character, Michael Scott — a graceless, somewhat impulsive company-head, whose inexperience doesn’t stop him from talking.

And Kim Jong Un must have seen the show because that side-eye he gave Trump was obviously channeling the “Jim face” after Trump’s failed attempt at humor when he asked the photographers to make them look “nice and thin.”

Jim Halpert, played by John Krasinski, functions as the straight man in the who often reacts in disbelief with an expression that says “Is this actually happening?” Like his counterpart, Tim in the original UK version of the series, Jim, is a middle manager who knows that his boss is ridiculous but is powerless to stop it.

London-based spoofer, Russell Ewe, even said in his video’s intro that he was inspired by Kim’s likeness to the beloved character Jim. Props for including Lee Haz-ee-en Lahng in the mix as well.

We also recommend Jason Christopher’s take, which includes guest appearances from fan favorites such as Ivanka Trump and Vladimir Putin.

YouTube user Theking4mayor obviously had a head start with his spoof. An earlier version parodied only the Trump administration, but he added a much-needed update by including a tape of Kim and their adventures in Singapore.
