Investigations are underway into an alleged case of bribery involving a security guard working at the Marina Bay Street Circuit and the couple who apparently greased his palms to let them enter the tracks.

All Singapore Stuff put up a screenshot of a Facebook post of a man who claimed to have bribed a security guard to let them enter the track at 3am yesterday for a photo op with his partner. “He not only agreed, he took the photo,” wrote the man about the security guard. “Non F1 fans won’t understand this, but most of us will”. Dude even dared to geotag his location.

Speaking to The Straits Times, a Singapore Grand Prix spokesman asserted that they take the allegation of bribery seriously. They’re already conducting investigations with the appointed security agency assigned to the area where the bribery was said to have took place.

Fortunately, there didn’t seem to be any cars on track in the wee hours of the morning when the recent track breach allegedly occured. In 2015, it fared much worse for the British man who found his way into the circuit during a race between the fastest cars in the world just to take a picture. He was jailed six weeks for committing a rash act that “endangered personal safety of the drivers”.

Last night concluded the 10th edition of the Singapore Grand Prix, with Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton emerging as champion after Ferrari’s Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, as well as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, crashed out in a chaotic, wet race.
