When a car made a wrong turn and tumbled down a flight of steps at Waterway Point, it was a group of migrant workers who banded together to shove it back up to safety. Around 6:40pm on Thursday, a loud crash was heard at the mall in Punggol Punggol, prompting passers-by in the vicinity to whip out their phones for photos that’ll find their way to All Singapore Stuff and its brethren.

According to The Straits Times, three foreign workers who walked past also took out their phones — but instead of capturing the incident for some social media cred, they called their friends for help. Eventually, more than 10 men came over to push the car up the stairs and back onto the road.

After the rescue, the driver drove off and the workers went on their way with smiles on their faces.

Eyewitness Garett Lim, whose post about the incident went viral on Facebook, put up the story on social media partly as a form of appreciation for the men.

“They are not being paid by anyone. Collectively they came over – after a hard day of work, they could have been ‘bo chap’ (meaning couldn’t care less in Hokkien) like me, but they came over and lent a helping hand without asking for anything in return,” he told ST.

Bearing similar attitudes of gratitude, netizens praised the actions of the foreign workers, saluting them for their kind-hearted actions.
